Ulang tahun kemerdekaan Sarawak disambut meriah

Kerajaan masih belum ada cadangan mengisytiharkan 22 Julai sebagai cuti umum.

KUCHING: Sambutan perayaan ulang tahun ke 51 Sarawak merdeka daripada empayar British disambut meriah walaupun tiada sambutan seluruh negeri yang dilakukan oleh kerajaan negeri pada Selasa lepas.

Sambutan ulang tahun ke-51 tahun Sarawak merdeka dimulakan dengan “Sarawak Independent Walk” yang dianjurkan oleh Jawatankuasa 722 2014 pada 19 Julai dibawah Sarawak People’s Aspirations (SAPA) dan beberapa badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) turut hadir memberi sokongan serta sekitar 100 orang turut hadir.

Pada 20 Julai pula, acara yang sama turut dilakukan di Miri dibawah Hornbill Talks, halaman Facebook, dan disokong oleh syarikat persendirian. Sekitar 100 lebih peserta mengambil bahagian.

Sementara itu, pada 22 Julai Persatuan Graduan Melayu Sarawak (IGMS) juga mengadakan lakonan semula peristiwa bersejarah yang membawa Sarawak menjadi sebuah negara yang berdaulat dan membentuk kerajaan sendiri 51 tahun yang lalu.

Walaupun di sebalik kegemilangan dan majlis bagaimanapun, Presiden IGMS Anib Said bimbang kepentingan di sebalik peristiwa bersejarah yang telah disalahgunakan oleh orang luar untuk melanjutkan agenda politik mereka sendiri, ada yang termasuk pengembalian pemerintahan British dan Brooke.

“Kami tidak cuba untuk memaksa referendum ke atas Malaysia,” katanya kepada pemberita pagi ini.

Terdapat juga perarakan yang dilakukan pihak awam yang dikenali sebagai #PH227 sebuah gerakan awam yang mengadakan perarakan merdeka pada jam 10 pagi sehingga 12 tengah hari dan mereka juga turut menuntut kerajaan negeri mengisytiharkan 22 Julai sebagai cuti umum.

100 peserta lebih dilaporkan turut hadir memberi sokongan.

Penduduk di Bintulu juga turut mengadakan perarakan awam yang dilakukan pada sebelah malam dan sekitar 100 lebih juga peserta memberi sokongan.

Pada 22 Julai 1963, Sarawak telah diberi kemerdekaan oleh pihak British

Menteri Pembangunan Tanah, James Jemut Masing berkata buat masa ini kerajaan masih belum ada cadangan mengisytiharkan 22 Julai sebagai cuti umum.

Kerajaan negeri turut meraikannya sebagai sebuah acara rasmi kerajaan dengan Majlis Memperingati 22 Julai & Penghargaan Sambutan Perayaan 50 Tahun Sarawak Merdeka Dalam Malaysia pada malam Isnin.

Pada 22 Julai 1963, Sarawak telah diberi kemerdekaan oleh pihak British sebelum membentuk Persekutuan Malaysia pada 16 September 1963.

Pembakaran bendera ini sebenarnya dilakukan oleh bangsa Filipina di Manila sebagai tunjuk perasaan menentang tindakan kerajaan "malaysia" semasa insiden pencerobohan pengganas di Tanduo, Lahad Datu Sabah.

Sesungguhnya pihak beritasemasa (Punca Ugutan Keras Tuntutan Facebook Sabah Sarawak Keluar Malaysia. Apa Kata Rakyat Malaysia?) ingin timbulkan prasangka negatif dan provokatif untuk mencemarkan imej pihak SSKM dalam usaha untuk mendidikan Bangsa Negara Sabah dan Bangsa Negara Sarawak tentang kebenaran yang selama ini disembunyikan oleh kerajaan persekutuan malaysia/malaya selama ini. Apa yang diperjuangkan oleh pihak SSKM adalah apa yang sebenarnya diinginkan oleh majoriti bangsa Negara Sabah dan Negara Sarawak.

Selama 51 tahun Bangsa Negara Sabah dan Bangsa Negara Sarawak memberikan peluang kepada pemimpin malaya untuk memperbetulkan keadaan namun, semakin diberi, semakin mereka menindas dan terus menipu. Perkara yang lebih menyedihkan apabila kerajaan malaya terus memperbodohkan diri tentang hak kesamarataan Negara Sabah dan Negara Sarawak dengan persekutuan tanah melayu/malaya. Mereka telah mengangkat diri mereka sebagai tuan kepada Kerajaan Negara Sabah dan Negara Sarawak. Dan ini sesuatu yang TIDAK BOLEH DIMAAFKAN!

Pihak SSKM berharap agar penyokong Kebangsaan Negara Sabah dan Kebangsaan Negara Sarawak tidak termakan penipuan yang cuba dilakukan oleh pihak beritasemasa melalui gambar tersebut. Pihak SSKM percaya bahawa Bangsa Negara Sabah dan Bangsa Negara Sarawak tidak akan tertipu dengan teknik kotor ini kerana kini adalah zaman Teknologi Maklumat.

Point 7: Right of Secession

There should be no right to secede from the Federation.

We should take a positive view of the "no right to secede" initiative, which is worth considering despite its affirmation in Point 7 which speaks of the Sabahan and Sarawakian rights to secede from the Federation of Malaysia This is so because “the use [by Point 7] of the word ‘’should’ (as opposed to the word ‘shall,’ for example) turns the option of "NO RIGHT TO SECEDE" into a mere recommendation.”

You see.. Diplomatic documents often demand close linguistic analysis. Would that Point 7 have meant something else, had it said that “There SHALL be no right to secede from the Federation.”?

Since the auxiliary verbs “shall” and “shan’t” have all but disappeared from American English, in much of Great Britain they are still in common use. The facts that the 18/20 Points Agreement was an Agreement relating to Malaysia between United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Federation of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore, it’s British usage that counts — and when it comes to that, what greater authorities do we have than the estimable Fowler brothers, F.G. and H.W., whose “The King’s English” (first edition published by Oxford University Press, 1906) served generations of perplexed English speakers as a revered guide. Here’s what “The King’s English” (traditionally known as “Fowler”) has to say about “shall,” “should,” “will” and “would” in a discussion that is 20(!) pages long:

“It is unfortunate that the idiomatic use [of these words], while it comes by nature to southern Englishmen (who will find most of this section superfluous), is so complicated that those who are not to the manner born can hardly acquire it; and for them [this] section is in danger of being useless. In apology for the length of the remarks it must be said that the short and simple directions often given are worse than useless. The observant reader soon loses faith in them… and the unobservant is the victim of false security."

Needless to say, this is highly reassuring! Fowler then opens its discussion with the following short and simple directions: “Roughly speaking, should follows the same rules as shall, and would as will.”

In their pure form, Fowler continues, "shall" and "should" express command or obligation, whereaswill and would express intention or prediction, the difference between the two members of each pair being that the second is the conditional form of the first. Hence, “There SHALL be no right to secede from the Federation.” would indicate that Sabah & Sarawak is commanded NOT TO SECEDE FROM THE FEDERATION unconditionally, whereas “There SHOULD be no right to secede from the Federation.” indicates that this command is SUBJECT TO A CONDITION (or CONDITIONS) — in this case, presumably, that SABAHAN & SARAWAKIAN wish “to continue being part of the Federation”

Would such a reading of my argument, if it is the correct one, turn POINT 7 into a “mere recommendation” that SABAH & SARAWAK continue to be part of the Federation of Malaysia when there is no reasons/causes to trigger their need to SECEDE FROM THE FEDERATION?? If POINT 7 intends to say that SABAH & SARAWAK need not secede from the Federation unless it wants to, then it also intends to say that SABAH & SARAWAK need not continue to be part of the Federation of Malaysia unless it wants to — a construction of POINT 7 that would be rather bizarre, to say the least.

True, in practice, as opposed to theory, the difference between “shall” and “should” in British English is somewhat different: “shall” often expressing a COMMAND on the speaker’s part, and “should” merely a DESIRE, as in “You shall go to the doctor” vs. “You should go to the doctor.” And yet if we paraphrase POINT 7 as saying, “The Point 7 of the Agreement of Malaysia desires that Sabah & Sarawak not to secede from the Federation,” is this significantly better for Sabah & Sarawak? How big an improvement over flouting the POINT 7’s command would be flouting the POINT 7’s desire??

In short, if we take consideration of the above arguments on the reading of POINT 7, the FEDERATION OF MALAYSIA should politely be told in the king’s English, “No, thank you.. we SABAHAN & SARAWAKIAN wish to SECEDE from the Federation.”

It was a fun spot discussion to gauge the peoples' knowledge about the GENUINE HISTORY of Sarawak and Sabah and The Formation of Malaysia and the Sarawak/Sabah CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS within Federation of Malaysia altogether. This is simply a gathering of people ranging from university students, professionals, social activist and others with the essence of 18/20 Points. A lite but energetic discussion as well as interactive Q & A about Sarawak/Sabah National Identity has bring us a lot of information to push us as Sarawakian and Sabahan citizens forward for the sake of the NEW SARAWAK and SABAH.

The THREE DAYS SPOT AWARENESS EXERCISE proves that the genuine information has reach certain level i.e. Masjids, Churches and Temples all around Dalat, Mukah, Sibu and Daro and other. While another location like various kampongs, recreational parks and even pubs and cafes were not left behind and yes, the awareness is SPROUTING.

This is still a small part of it and still a very long journey ahead. Sabah and Sarawak has been governed under the current Administration since

1963. That was the year Malaysia was born and sadly, that was a new

beginning of political slavery that took place in these two promising lands. Sabah and Sarawak were seen and mentioned by the current Administration as their

deposits which they gain in terms of political "interest" during Election time has taken their natives, people and produce for granted.

Such blessed soil that produces crops such as Palm Oil and Rubber should have converted into massive developments for the locals in both States especially when the commodity prices escalates over the years. However, the sad and horrible Truth is that the People were left and abandon from further developments. Education systems that continue to sup pres the creativity minds of the people in fear that the future generations might wake up one day to fight for what was theirs in the very FIRST PLACE. The SALCRA programs for both States were designed to keep generations of natives and locals as their working horse while they cash in by making millions individually. Individuals gain immeasurable wealth at the expense of these ignorant and innocent people. The current NEP system and policies have given birth to a crippled nation in these two States.

We are here to provide a platform for anyone who wishes to share and provide timely information on why Sabah and Sarawak should have its Independence. Their inclusion into Malaya in 1963, were due to the generosity by the British Government. (The Brookes family seceded Sarawak to British in 1948). By right, these two States were not for anyone to give it to Malaya. Let us criticize or suggest constructively on how and why these two deserving States should have its own Government.

Unrest and Upheavel - Colonial Rule in Sarawak

Sarawak Flag as Crown Colony

By 1950 it was clear that the Colonial Office was failing to control the recently created Crown Colony of Sarawak. The ceding of the kingdom by Rajah Charles Brooke broke the 1941 constitution as the Council Negri (parliament) and people were all too aware. They denounced the cynical manner in which their independance had been traded for money and demanded an end to colonial control through the restoration to the throne of the White Rajahs through the person of Anthony Walter Dayrell Brooke, the nephew of Charles and Rajah Muda (Heir) of Sarawak. 

They felt he was capable - having run the country for a year - of governing it without any Westminister interferance. Many in the local civil service agreed and used their positions to undermine the new authorities - they distributed posters and organised opposition wherever possible. People in the countryside displayed their loyalties by flying the pre-colonial flag or through other prominant referances to the old regime.

A nationalist showing their support of the Brooke's by painting the Royal Crest on their door. During the time of the Crown Colony a fine was imposed on those who did this and the crest hastily painted over, as such this example is a rare survivor.

Abang Haji Abdillah : The Gandhi of Sarawak

History is often made by extraordinary people and one of those must surely be Abang Haji Abdillah, the son of the late mayor of Kuching he was both an ardent nationalist and a powerful orator. Called the "Sarawak Gandhi" he followed a similar path of peaceful pass protest and non - violent demostration. [1] Through powerful speeches such as "Me and my people would never agree with the cession of Sarawak to the British  Crown!...We cherish the independence of this state where we were born..." he raised the spirits of the people and brought coverage to the plight of Sarawak. Supporters of him took part in hunger strikes and prevented colonial officials from entering their villages. His persona was crucial to uniting the Dayaks and Malays behind the Brooke claim and preserving their close realtionship against Colonial Office divide and conquer techniques.

Mahathir MENJAHANAM Negara Sabah!

Tindakan Mahathir mengakui Projek IC itu berlaku adalah disebabkan dia tidak mampu lagi untuk berselindung daripada salahlaku atas tindakan pemberian IC secara haram itu yang mana ia telah dihalalkan dan diluluskan melalui agensi JPN. 

Terlalu banyak orang yang menjadi saksi atas perbuatannya yang terkutuk. Kini dia sedang mencari alasan untuk menampakkan tindakannya itu sesuatu yang tidak salah dan sah disisi undang-undang. 

Wahai saudara saudari sekalian... Dia sedang menggunakan alasan mengenai pemberian 1 juta kerakyatan di Malaya untuk di samakan di Sabah. Perlu diingat bahawa sejarah pemberian kerakyatan itu sungguh jauh sekali tujuannya. 

Pemberian IC di Malaya itu dilakukan sebelum malaya mencapai kemerdekaan yang mana ia merupakan satu tindakan yang sah disisi undang-undang melalui prinsip kerakyatan jus soli. Atas persetujuan (antara syarat-syarat pra kemerdekaan) itulah baru Malaya diberikan kemerdekaan.

Berlainan pula isu pemberian kerakyatan di Sabah. Ia dilakukan bukan untuk kemerdekaan tetapi adalah bermotifkan politik 100% untuk mengukuhkan parti-parti malaya dibawah pimpinan parti umno-bn. Mahathir menegaskan bahawa dia mengikuti lunas undang-undang dalam pemberian ic tetapi apakah yang dia gunakan sebagai panduan dalam pemberian ic tersebut? Adakah apabila orang asing itu pandai bercakap bahasa "melayu" dan "islam" terus menjadi Malaysia??? adakah mereka ini sudah mencapai permaustatin tetap selama 12 tahun (minimum)? Setahu saya, pemberian ic ini sangat canggih. Sekarang orang asing itu sampai sabah, kelmarin lagi ic itu sudah siap untuk mereka. Apa lagi alasan yang digunakan olehnya??? 

Inilah yang terjadi jikalau orang asing (bapanya adalah orang india di kerala) yang telah diberikan kerakyatan dibenarkan menjadi pemimpin. Hasilnya adalah seperti yang anda dapat lihat daripada kerja dia selama bergelar pemimpin Malaysia/malaya

Saya ingin menyeru kepada semua Warga Sabah, Bangsa yang Merdeka dan Berdaulat untuk berdiri teguh dalam isu ini dan menentang tindakannya habis-habisan yang kotor dan sungguh menjijikkan agar keselamatan dan kesejahteraan Negara kita Sabah dipelihara selamanya!

Tun Mahathir berkata bahawa Tunku juga melakukan perkara yang sama malah lebih teruk jika dibandingkan dengan apa yang dia buat. Jika kita kaji semula perlembagaan persekutuan, apa yang dilakukan oleh Tunku Abdul Rahman adalah SAH disisi undang-undang kerana kewujudan KONTRAK SOSIAL bagi menggantikan konsep Jus Soli yang menafikan hak dan keistimewaan orang Melayu dan Bumiputera (Bumiputera di sini tidak termasuk Natives of Sarawak dan Natives of Sabah atau dengan nama lain, Anak Negeri Pribumi Sarawak/Sabah; Natives of Sarawak & Natives of Sabah mempunyai hak dan keistimewaan yang sama di dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan setaraf Melayu dan Bumiputera di Persekutuan Malaya).

Prinsip Jus Soli yang digunakan semasa Malayan Union tidak menjamin kemandirian orang orang Melayu dan Bumiputera di Malaya pada masa tersebut. Ini menimbulkan rasa tidak puas hati di kalangan orang melayu malaya. Maka, pewujudan Kontrak Sosial selari dengan pembentukan Persekutuan Malaya yang terdiri daripada Negeri-Negeri Melayu Bersekutu, Negeri-Negeri Melayu Tidak Bersekutu dan Negeri-Negeri Selat (States Without Ruler) yang menjamin hak dan keistimewaan Melayu dan bumiputera Negara Persekutuan Malaya di samping memelihara kebajikan masyarakat bukan Melayu dan bukan bumiputera iaitu masyarakat India dan Cina dan oleh kerana itu, pemberian IC kepada masyarakat India dan Cina pada masa itu adalah tertakluk kepada PERJANJIAN yang ditentukan di dalam Kontrak Sosial. Negara Persekutuan Tanah Malaya lahir secara rasmi pada 31 Ogos 1957 iaitu hari kemerdekaan Malaya (bukan kemerdekaan Malaysia).

Jika kita melihat praktik Kontrak Sosial ini hanya tergunapakai di Persekutuan Malaya (sekarang ini adalah Semenanjung Malaysia) sahaja. Kerangka tersebut tidak terguna pakai di Sabah kerana komposisi Negara Sabah sebelum pembentukan Persekutuan Malaysia pada 16 September 1963 adalah jauh berbeza dan Negara Sabah telah mempunyai Perlembagaan sendiri dan mempunyai identiti kenegaraan tersendiri. Maka tindakan Tun Mahathir mewajarkan pemberian IC kepada pendatang asing di Sabah bolehlah dianggap sebagai pengkhianatan terhadap kedaulatan Sabah yang telah "bersetuju" untuk membentuk Malaysia bersama Negara Sarawak, Negara Malaya dan Negara Singapura pada 50 tahun yang lampau.

Opening of Nations without States

Online: Nations without States is a new organisation that is based upon the concept and promotion of self-determination i.e. the right of a national peoples to choose how and who should rule them. It was formed by an Englishman (Graham Williamson), a Sikh (Jagdeesh Singh) who is here tonight, and a Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam MP (Yogi Sockalingam).

One of its aims is to be a platform for various national causes to showcase their claims as well as facilitate cooperation between self-determinist groups. It has already recruited Sindh and many other national activists.

Launched on the anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights 10th December 2012, it handed to the UN, the EU and the British Government its own Declaration for Self-Determination calling for the concept to be accepted as a human right.
